Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) Course


As an integral part of its expanded Tier Program, the Uptime Institute is pleased to offer the Accredited Tier Designer curriculum. This course is developed, delivered, and maintained by Uptime Institute Professional Services.

Professional Development Hours:

This course is of a technical nature that may qualify for your state's Professional Development Hours (PDHs) requirements. Contingent upon your state of registration’s criteria, this curriculum may qualify for up to 10.5 PDHs. (May not be applicable in all countries)


Accredited Tier Designer Information:


This course will provide instruction to design professionals, in the context of real-life designs, on practical application of the Tiers, including common issues and misconceptions.

This course is open to licensed professional engineers.


Accredited Tier Designer Eligibility


The Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer curriculum is intended for licensed Professional Engineers with a design management role for data centers and similar technology projects. The program provides the multiple-disciplinary concepts necessary to achieve project design objectives based on the Uptime Institute Tier Standards criteria. The curriculum crosses traditional engineering-discipline boundaries, thus will suit design professionals who are responsible for project delivery.

Individuals who will directly benefit from the Accredited Tier Designer program are:


·         Engineers-of-Record


·         Design-Build Team Senior Project Managers


·         Project Owners’ Senior Engineering Representative


·         This course responds to a) the fact that the Tier Classification System is increasingly propagated in data center projects across the globe and b) consistent feedback from the engineering community that the Tier Classification white paper in and of itself does not provide a sufficient initiation point for a detailed design solution.


·         This is intensive 3-day course focusing on materials and concepts of a technical nature, and culminates in an examination. For individuals that pass the examination, the Uptime Institute will award an Accredited Tier Designer endorsement. The course is administered by Uptime Institute Faculty with field experience in the practical application of the Tiers. Furthermore, each Faculty is a co-author of the Tier Classification and Operational Sustainability white papers and a Tier Certification Authority.


Successful completion of the Institute Accredited Tier Designer program, demonstrated through examination at the end of the course, will result in an Uptime Institute endorsement of the individual as an Accredited Tier Designer.

Accredited Tier Designer represents neither license nor permission to deliver a) Tier Certifications of designs, b) Tier Certifications of constructed environments, or c) Operational Sustainability ratings or Certifications.

This is a binding contract, please read and understand the terms and conditions before signing as signed booking forms will not be cancelled 10 days after SAVANNAH TELECOM Management has received the registration form.


1.  Terms of payment:


In order to secure your registration, payment is due in full upon receipt of invoice. Early registration is vital due to limited workshop space.


2.  Right of Admission:


SAVANNAH TELECOM reserves the right to refuse admission to the conference where evidence of full payment cannot be shown.


3.  Delegate Cancellation:


Provided the total fee has been settled, substitutions will be at no extra charge up till 7 days before the workshop date. Cancellations must be received in writing (14) days before the workshop in order to obtain a full credit voucher for our future events. Any cancellations received less than 14 days before the date of the conference, the full fee will be payable and no refunds or credit voucher will be given. If a delegate does not cancel and fails to attend the conference, he/she is liable for the full payment and no refund / credit voucher will be issued


4. SAVANNAH TELECOM Substitutions:


Please note that speakers and topics were confirmed at the time of publishing, however, circumstances beyond the control of the organizers may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such SAVANNAH TELECOM reserves the right to alter /modify the advertised speakers/ topics if necessary and all delegates will be notified as soon as possible.


5.SAVANNAH TELECOM Cancellation & Postponement:


In the event that SAVANNAH TELECOM Business Consulting cancels an event, delegate payments at the date of cancellation will be credited to a future SAVANNAH TELECOM conference. This credit will be available for a year from the date of issue. If the delegate is unable to attend the rescheduled conference, the delegate will receive a credit representing payments made towards a future SAVANNAH TELECOM conference & it will be available for 1 year from the date of issue. SAVANNAH TELECOM is not responsible for any loss/damage as a result of a substitution, alteration/cancellation /postponement of a conference
